A truck driver has been convicted of smuggling $3.5 million worth of cocaine into Canada. The drugs were discovered hidden in a commercial truck crossing the border, leading to the driver’s arrest and subsequent conviction.
Harvinder Singh of Brampton was arrested March 31, 2021, at the crossing connecting Michigan and the Sarnia area after Canada Border Services Agency officers found two suitcases containing about 62 kilograms of cocaine while inspecting his tractor-trailer. Singh, then 25 years old, was charged by the RCMP with importing cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
