Amazon trucking contractors have higher rates of safety violations

Concerns about safety in Amazon’s logistics network are intensifying after the tragic death of a 19-year-old college student, Iliana Velez, in a crash involving one of Amazon’s contracted drivers. Velez, a part-time worker at an Amazon fulfillment center, was forced off the road by a contractor’s box truck while on a break, leading to a fatal rollover accident.
